Remove background from PNG
PNG is the one common format that stores real transparency. Cutting out a PNG here preserves the alpha channel — no white rectangle pretending to be transparent.
How to use
- 1Drag your image into the upload area or click to pick a file.
- 2Wait while the AI separates the subject from the background inside your browser.
- 3Check the before/after and download the transparent PNG.
What it's for
Alpha channel kept
Erased areas are genuinely empty, not filled with white.
Soft edges
The mask keeps partial opacity in hair, glass and thin shadows.
Ready to overlay
Drop the PNG straight onto any colour or background image.
Frequently asked questions
My PNG already had partial transparency. Is it kept?
Yes. Already-transparent regions stay transparent and the AI only removes the remaining opaque background.
Why do I see a checkerboard?
The checkerboard is just how transparency is displayed on screen. In the downloaded file that area is empty.
Can I save it as JPG afterwards?
You can, but JPG has no transparency: use the PNG to JPG tool and pick a background colour.
